Started in 2011 as International Anti-Street Harassment Day, International Anti-Street Harassment Week takes place during the first week of the spring equinox.
During International Anti-Street Harassment Week, community members, activists, students, and bloggers join forces to speak out about gender-based street harassment and work toward solutions. Around the world, people will share their stories, challenge the social acceptability of street harassment, brainstorm community responses, and take action to end it. It’s a time to collectively remind everyone that spring is no excuse for harassing women.
In 2012, the dates are March 18-24. Learn how you can participate.
Thank you for a successful International Anti-Street Harassment Day in 2011! More than 2,000 people participated in at least 13 countries. Read an article by founder Holly Kearl about how it went.
